Nab 2015, is in the books.
A lot of hype on certain things, and much of that lived up to the releases. The event was stacked with over 100K visitors from all around the world, and over a million square footage of tech. -Even the nerds were over whelmed.
Camera acted as the central artery of the show, keeping the pulse alive. Drones and stabilized systems supported, and audio land was off in their own world doing their thing. -Where most times you found yourself lost looking for an out. If you were brave enough you could push the limits to switcher board island, which had some pretty sweet nobs, colours and displays, but Mufasa told us to never go there. -All jokes aside, the show is a serious one, NAB is full tilt.
There were many highlights, but a few selects stuck out.
Shotover Camera’s booth was one. Combining both, booth + live demo outside, in front of the main entrance really made heads turn. A 4k display looping our videos, surrounded by K1 and F1 demo systems was a treat.
Drones, 4k and stabilization reflected some light as well. Freefly introduced some really slick tools, along with 3DR drones, and GoPro had a wild set up with Ken Blocks Hoonigan Truck fitted with snow Traxx. Although some of it wasn’t ground breaking, there were definitely improvements in areas which made a lot of the people really get into it. Ronin’s, Syrp’s brand new mini genies, Small HD Monitors. -all heavy hitters. Firmware to hardware updates, even down to the slightest quick release plates from Wooden Camera, everyone brought something valuable to the table. -Super stoked.
The RED booth had guns blazing. With the release of the Weapon, it was stacked through-out. All Instagrams were focused on the weapons, 6K and 8K bodies, new additional pieces, even the dead bodies that were displayed caught eyes. RED took a horrific approach with twisted set up.
-skeletons, jared body parts, lined with blood, and the Dragons were their picking up every detail. Powerful little boxes. The after party took the cake, with Dirty South spinning, just can’t go wrong, big ups!
An overload of specs, toys, tools, and eats, thats another year at NAB.
Let’s get to it.
