Growing up in Canada, the city of Toronto provided the backdrop of Chris Grubisa’s emerging career behind the lens. Chris was exposed to filming early through his father, who captured home videos frequently. After borrowing his dad’s handicam, Chris’ love for creating media became a driving force in his life. Rolling through his hometown on his board, video camera in hand, Chris honed his eye for moving images and laid the groundwork for his content creating style.
Now, a decade-and-a-half later, Chris is co-founder of Chrilleks and calls Los Angeles home. Leading the Chrilleks creative team in both LA and Toronto, Chris was recently named to Canada’s Top 30 Entrepreneurs/Innovators/Leaders Under Age 30 by Marketing Magazine and has earned honors from the Telly Awards for his editing and cinematography. His style is sharp, quick, and poignant, providing memorable digital content for a variety of brands, personalities, and clients, including Shopify, Under Armour, and Gymshark.
Chris prides himself on creating content that defies categorization and is always tweaking his work to be immersive and intriguing. From bite-size clips to feature-length video, Chris is agile, adaptable and driven, three characteristics of his success. Plus, he never stops moving. In his free time, he explores other creative outlets via @brbcreatingsomething and kicks it with his dog, Sunny.
Born in the film capital of Poland - Łódź, Aleks and her family immigrated to Canada when she was just five years old. Her ability to speak fluently in Polish and English has opened many doors and allowed her to work many media related jobs overseas. She had a successful start in the film industry after graduating from the Media Arts program at Sheridan College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning.
Aleks first started working at Toronto's largest camera rental house, Sim Digital as a Camera Prep Technician, but changed directions within months after being offered a Production Coordinating position in Europe for a feature length documentary directed by Gemini Nominated Director Vladimir Kabelik. After returning to Canada Aleks decided to continue her path into the production world as an Executive Assistant for a Toronto Production Company. Aleksandra's technical knowledge and production experience has helped her stand out from traditional producers.
In 2011 Aleks and her business partner Chris Grubisa began Chrilleks Productions Inc – one of Toronto’s very first digital production companies pushing social content. In 2016 Aleks was instrumental in the expansion of Chrilleks to Los Angeles and in September 2017 she launched her personal project Say Hello a podcast dedicated to the women who inspire us. We like to call her a “Mobile Producer” because she’s always on the road coordinating between our teams in both the US and Canada.
